A complete reference
The sixty day pillars.
The day pillar is the two-character pair in your chart's day column. Its upper stem is the Day Master; the lower character is the day branch. This reference lists every pairing in the sixty-step cycle and explains the details inside each one.

Three details to compare
- Same stem, different branch
- Each Day Master appears in six day pillars. The stem stays the same, but the hidden stems and their relationships can change.
- Sixty pairs, six groups
- Stems and branches move forward together through sixty pairs. Each group of ten is called a xun; it is not a ten-year luck cycle.
- One pillar within four
- Use the day-pillar page as a reference beside the full chart. The year, month, and hour add other symbols and relationships.
