Which time does the calculator use?
Enter the local clock time recorded at birth. Truenoon applies its own solar-time correction, so do not subtract daylight saving or adjust the time yourself. Near a boundary, the correction can change a pillar.
Birth city
The selected city's longitude and timezone determine the location correction. Choose the city you were born in, not your current home.
Date-specific correction
The engine estimates the equation of time for the birth date and rounds the combined correction to the nearest minute.
Historical clock rules
The timezone offset includes historical daylight-saving rules. If a clock time occurred twice, Truenoon chooses the earlier occurrence.
If the entered birth time falls inside a daylight-saving gap — a local clock time that did not exist — Truenoon continues with the entered clock time and skips true-solar-time correction. Check the recorded time before relying on that chart.

Before you calculate
Is this BaZi calculator really free?
Yes. The chart is free with no account. During the launch period the full nine-chapter reading is also free after a Google sign-in, limited to three reports per account.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
You can still calculate. Truenoon uses noon as a calculation assumption, omits the hour pillar, and marks the chart as reduced precision. Near a day or solar-term boundary, the unknown time may also affect the day, month, or year pillar.
Why does this chart differ from other calculators?
Calculators can use different time corrections and boundary conventions. Compare the birth place, historical timezone and daylight-saving rules, true solar time, solar-term boundaries, and whether the day changes at 23:00 or midnight. A different result alone does not establish which tool is wrong; our method page states the choices Truenoon makes.
How is my birth data used?
Birth details are used to calculate the chart and provide the report. City search uses a local dataset. If external AI writing is enabled, chart facts without your name, email, or raw location may be sent to the report provider. The privacy policy explains storage, service providers, retention, and deletion requests.
